You want to earn from Jumia deals by sharing them in a WhatsApp group in Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana or Uganda. Then you search for "Jumia affiliate" and find old blog posts, dead links and contradictory commission numbers. This guide sorts out what actually exists today, what has disappeared, and how to sell Jumia products on WhatsApp without promising anything you can't prove.
The short answer: the old Jumia KOL affiliate site is gone (its domain no longer resolves). Jumia still runs an affiliate portal, but it only shows a login screen, with no public sign-up, rules or commission table. The programme Jumia describes publicly is JForce, a network of sales consultants who place orders on behalf of customers for a commission. If you want to sell Jumia through WhatsApp, JForce is the route to ask about first, in writing, in your country.
What happened to Jumia KOL?
For years, "Jumia KOL" (Key Opinion Leader) was the name people used for Jumia's affiliate programme, and many tutorials still send you to kol.jumia.com. When we checked on 2 October 2026, that domain no longer existed: it doesn't resolve at all. Some third-party blogs still quote old commission rates for it, but there's no official page to back those numbers up.
What that means for you, in practice:
- Don't tell your members you're a "Jumia KOL affiliate". You'd be naming a programme that you can't show exists.
- Don't copy commission percentages from old articles into your group description or your recruitment posts. Nobody can verify them today.
- If a stranger on WhatsApp offers to "activate your KOL account" for a fee, treat it as a scam. There's no official page they could be activating.
The Jumia affiliate portal: what you can see from outside
The address affiliate.jumia.com does load. But all it shows is a login screen with the words "Affiliate, Advertiser, Buyer" and a "Login with OKTA" button. There's no public sign-up form, no commission table and no rules page. We couldn't confirm whether it's open to new affiliates.
So if someone already gave you access, use it and follow the terms inside your account. If not, the honest path is to contact Jumia through the official channels in your country and ask whether the portal accepts new partners, before you build a group around it.
JForce: Jumia's official sales consultant network
This is the part Jumia explains in public. On its business services page, the Jumia group describes JForce like this:
"JForce is a network of sales consultants that place Jumia platform orders on behalf of consumers in a commission based program."
The same page says the goal is to reach places where "internet access is limited and trust in e-commerce is still developing". That fits WhatsApp selling perfectly: many of your buyers will be people who prefer to send you a message and let you place the order for them.

- Built for buyers with limited internet or low trust in online shopping
- Commission rates and requirements are not public: ask Jumia in your country
Affiliate link vs. JForce: the difference
| Affiliate link (portal) | JForce consultant | |
|---|---|---|
| How the sale happens | The buyer clicks your link and orders on their own | You place the order for the buyer |
| Public terms | No: login only | Description is public; commission is not |
| Best for | Buyers comfortable with apps and cards | Buyers who want help or have little data |
| Your work on WhatsApp | Post deals with links | Post deals, answer questions, take orders |
| Status today | Open to new affiliates: not confirmed | Official programme described by Jumia |
Where Jumia operates (and where it doesn't)
According to the Jumia group site, the company is "active across 8 countries": Egypt, Ghana, Côte d'Ivoire, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal and Uganda. For English-speaking Africa, that means Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana and Uganda.
Jumia does not operate in South Africa or Tanzania. If your audience is there, a Jumia group makes no sense; look at local stores instead (for South Africa, see our guide to POPIA and Black Friday WhatsApp marketing).
Why Black Friday matters for a Jumia group
Jumia's own investor update shows how big its Black Friday has become. The 2025 event ran from 31 October to 30 November 2025 across its countries, with 3.2 million orders, which Jumia said was 63% of the orders in that two-month period. In Nigeria, orders grew 28% and GMV 45%; in Ghana, orders grew 81% and GMV 132%.
The 2026 dates had not been announced when we checked in early October. Plan as if it could start around the end of October again, but only post dates once Jumia announces them in your country.

How to sell Jumia products on WhatsApp, step by step
- 1Pick one country and one niche
Jumia runs separate sites per country, with different prices and stock. A Lagos phone-accessories group and a Nairobi kitchen group are two different groups.
- 2Choose your route and get it in writing
JForce or the affiliate portal. Ask what you earn, when you are paid, how returns affect you and whether WhatsApp groups are allowed.
- 3Create the group the right way
Admins-only messages, clear rules, a description that explains how you earn. Our guide on how to create a WhatsApp deals group walks you through it.
- 4Invite, never add
Share an invite link and let people choose. WhatsApp's Business Policy requires that people gave you their number and opted in to receive messages.
- 5Post deals people can check
Product, price, why it's a good deal, link or "reply to order". No fake countdowns or invented discounts.
- 6Help with payment and delivery questions
This is where JForce-style selling shines: you guide buyers who are new to online shopping.

Payments: what WhatsApp does and doesn't do
WhatsApp's official payments documentation only covers India and Brazil. In Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana and Uganda, payment happens outside the app. If you sell through Jumia, the buyer pays using the methods Jumia offers. If you also sell your own products, the usual options are mobile money (M-PESA in Kenya, MTN MoMo in Ghana and Uganda) or a payment link from a provider like Paystack, which says it serves businesses registered in Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa and Kenya. We cover Kenya in detail in selling on WhatsApp in Kenya with Pochi la Biashara.
Scams that use Jumia's name
Scammers love big brands. In Kenya, Citizen Digital reported in January 2023 on a DCI investigation into a fake "Jumia Shopping" Facebook page: it advertised discounts, collected payments to an M-PESA Till, sent "invoices" over WhatsApp and then switched the numbers off. Your group can protect people from this and earn trust at the same time.
